SUNFLOWER

At the end of school last year, Nick brought home a tiny sunflower seed planted in soil in a foam cup. He was pretty excited to get it in the ground right away and see what it would do. That baby grew like crazy all summer long. I swear, we could stand next to it and watch it grow! By the time we got home from South Dakota, it was getting ready to seed, which meant it was time to say good-bye. Check out the pictures we took of it before Chris and Nick chopped it down with an axe....
This leaf was bigger than Nick's entire torso...

This is a trunk, not a stem......
